Day one of the IQGames Japan started with a blast. It is the first time the IQFOiL International Games come to Miyako Island but it has already shown how great this place is for Olympic Windsurfing. With 22 degrees and 16+ knots, we were able to do 5-course races on the first day of racing.

With 3 race wins Daiya Kuramochi from Japan is leading the male fleet. Kuramochi “Today we had really good wind, I had good starts and my speed was good. Tomorrow we will do more races”.
In the women's fleet, Yuki Sunaga shows dominance by winning 4 out of 5 races on the first day. “It was windier than I thought it would be, so it was really fun with good racing”.
The ranking is still very tight so there is no room for mistakes with 3 more days of racing planned, here in Miyakojima.
