Four Slalom races shake up the standings on Day 2, with Medea Falcioni charging into the top ten and local sailor Stanislaw Trepczynski climbing to second

Puck, Poland – September 29, 2026– A lighter breeze brought a complete change of racing on Day 2 of the iQFOiL U23 World Championships in Puck, with the fleet switching from Course Racing to Slalom and completing four races on the Bay of Puck.

In the Women’s fleet, the top three remains unchanged. Aimee Bright (NZL) continues to lead the championship, ahead of Maya Gysler (NOR) in second and Tuva Oppedal (NOR)in third, as the trio consolidated their positions at the front after two days of racing. One of the performances of the day came from Medea Falcioni (ITA). After a difficult opening day, the 15-year-old Italian stormed into the top ten with an impressive Slalom series. Falcioni took two race wins and never finished outside the top three today, making a major move up the overall standings.

In the Men’s fleet, Federico Alan Pilloni (ITA) remains firmly in control. The Italian followed his strong opening day by winning all four of his heats, maintaining his position at the top of the leaderboard. Making a strong challenge for the lead is home sailor Stanislaw Trepczynski (POL). Racing on home waters, the Polish athlete scored three bullets today to climb into second overall, putting himself firmly in contention after eight races. Leonardo Tomasini (ITA) remains third overall, holding the same position he occupied at the end of the opening day and giving Italy two sailors inside the provisional top three.

With two days of qualification completed, the Men’s fleet will now split into Gold and Silver fleets, raising the level of competition as the leading sailors meet head-to-head from tomorrow.

Racing continues Wednesday on the Bay of Puck as the battle for the iQFOiL U23 World Championship titles moves into its next phase.
