iQFOiL INTERNATIONAL GAMES SHENZHEN WRAP UP AFTER CHALLENGING WEEK OF WEATHER

Shenzhen, China – 8 November 2025 – The iQFOiL International Games in Shenzhen, which doubled as the 2025 Asian Championships, came to a close today at Dameisha Bay following a week heavily impacted by unstable weather and the effects of Typhoon Kalmaegi.

After two days of racing cancelled due to storm disruption, Friday offered the only full day of validated competition. Hopes were high going into the final day, as a promising southerly breeze kicked off the morning. The Senior Men, Senior Women, and U19 Men managed to complete one more race each shortly after 11:00 a.m., but the conditions quickly deteriorated.

By midday, the wind had dropped dramatically, forcing the race committee to send all fleets back to shore. A brief window of potential reopened around 2:15 p.m., and the U19 Girls and U17 fleets were sent out in the hopes of salvaging further racing. However, the combination of hot temperatures and unstable breeze proved too much once again, and no additional races could be validated. By 4 pm, the AP-A flags were hoisted on the committee boat, marking the end of racing for the day and the event.

Despite the limited opportunities on the water, Friday’s races provided enough results to crown the 2025 iQFOiL Asian Champions across all categories.
