The shifting winds presented a unique difficulty, making it challenging to set a stable course on the water. Despite the unpredictable conditions, the men's fleet witnessed Sebastian Koerdel, the current overall leader, showcasing his dominance even in lighter winds. Koerdel secured three first-place finishes out of four races, solidifying his position at the top of the rankings. Luuc van Opzeeland from the Netherlands held on to second place, closely followed by Huig Jan Tak, also from the Netherlands, in third.

In the women's fleet, Shahar Tibi from Israel demonstrated exceptional performance, achieving the best average score of the day. Her outstanding performance propelled her to second place overall, trailing closely behind her teammate Sharon Kantor, who maintained her position in first. Pilar Lamadrid secured third place, adding to the competition's intensity.

The day's racing schedule was demanding, with all four races taking the entire day to complete. The final race concluded just before sunset at 8:30 pm, highlighting the athletes' unwavering dedication. The fleets were divided into Gold and Silver categories for both men and women. Unfortunately, the Men's Silver fleet did not have the opportunity to compete due to the challenging conditions.

Looking ahead, the forecast predicts another day of light winds, promising further strategic racing on the horizon. As the event progresses, each race becomes increasingly crucial, with tomorrow marking the final day of fleet racing. Sunday will witness the exhilarating conclusion of the iQFOiL European Championships with the highly anticipated medal series. This all-or-nothing elimination series will feature the top ten male and female riders battling for the coveted podium positions.

The competitors remain determined and focused, as they edge closer to their ultimate goal of claiming victory in this prestigious event. The iQFOiL European Championships not only serve as a platform for showcasing talent but also as a stepping stone toward the forthcoming Paris 2024 Olympics. As the event draws to a close, the level of competition continues to soar, setting the stage for an unforgettable showdown on the international stage.

Reflecting on the day's challenges, Sebastian Koerdel shared his thoughts, stating, "It was a tricky day, very different from yesterday. Two of the races were actually really fun, with the wind reaching 13 and 15 knots. In the last race, it became super, super light. Despite a bad start, I managed to secure three victories and a sixth place.”
