The morning started off with a special tradition known as the Shinji, a Japanese ritual aimed at invoking good luck and ensuring safety for both athletes and organizers before major events or auspicious beginnings.

Following the solemnity of the Shinji, racing festivities kicked off amidst perfect wind conditions. With winds ranging from 12 to 17 knots, participants engaged in a series of races, totaling five in all.

In the men's division, Manolo Modena of Italy showcased his skills, clinching victory in an impressive four out of five races, securing his position at the top of the rankings. Meanwhile, in the women's fleet, Sofia Renna, also representing Italy, demonstrated remarkable consistency, propelling herself into the lead after a stellar day of racing.

The chosen format for today's races was course racing, providing athletes with diverse challenges and opportunities on the racing area.

Stay tuned for more updates and highlights from the iQGames Miyakojima 2024 as the event continues to unfold.
